JANUARY 2006

Garvar here.

Wednesday's comic was completed roughly one hour ago. My internet crapped out on me again, and now that it's reconnected I can say my piece. Since the comic is done, you can expect a wallpaper or two to come soon.

Also, it is with a heavy heart that I bear this news: Our dear friend has only a few hours of existance left. January, we will not miss you, but I bring a mournful attitude anyway. Okay! Wallpapers next day!

Geometry exam tomorrow. Despite how much time I've spent thinking about studying, I've managed to do some site updating. We now have a forum and also a donate page, because we're a bunch of moochers. Also, for a future reference (and likely I'll post the same thing tomorrow), we clear our news page once a month (for now). When you get to the site tomorrow and most of this stuff is gone, don't panic! A link in the history page will show you all the posts that happened in January. I'm out. Later.

Garvar here.

Hoo boy...I've been busy today, so I've done no work on anything, other than fixing the strip. But now that we're actually recieving feedback, a portion of this has been invention ideas. For those of you who have submitted ideas, I'd just like to say, now is not the time. I don't think we'll be taking invention ideas into consideration until after the 'suggestion box' is no longer a mere placeholder. Also, that whole survey thing will probably just be removed, and there'll be a flash tutorial on submitting invention ideas.

Also, on a side note, every time I try to log on, I find myself searching the deep recesses of my mind to recall what the damn password is. To make things simple, I'll just end up posting our account info on the main page so it's easy for me to find! /bullshitting

Okey dokey! Some things...

I would have gotten to posting this myself earlier, but I have recently developed this habit of mine where I will follow a link from one of my favourite webcomics to some arbitrary comic site, which nobody I know has ever heard of before, and I'll read the entire series in one sitting. So that's where I've been for the past 90 minutes.

Now, for relevance. I noticed that today's comic was resized to hell. This just would not do; the thing was almost too damn small for me to read, and I wrote it. So, the comic is now set to its default size. I see Lang's already gone full frontal into organizing things with the buttons and whatnot. There's just a couple this-or-that's missing, and, while I'm bored and neglecting yet another exam, I think I'll do a lil' copy/paste to make the archive updated, too.

I doubt I'll do any comic work today, but I might get started on a new wallpaper. I was pondering during lunch what to do, and now I've got two solid ideas in mind for Twink and Doober. Doober's wallpaper may have to wait until after Wednesday's comic though, depending on how things go.

Morning everybody! As Lord Garvar promised, here's you new comic! Now, while you're looking at the comic, be sure to say hi to the next and back buttons. Oh, and for everyone in the general Kincardine area...PARTY AT WYATT'S HOUSE TONIGHT! Y'know, if you can find it. Just kidding. Anyway, Tatum needs help again. Poor bastard, being born with no brain and all. Later everybody.

Woo! Hooray for more avatar images!

Ahem. Seriously, though...I've finished the second comic just now, so that'll be uploaded for tomorrow. For now, we're planning to have comic updates every Wednesday and Saturday, pending all other conditions are met. Unfortunately, I do have a life to live, which takes time away from working on these, but the real problem is writing the comics. Got a couple ideas stored up in my brain, that'll last me another week or so.

I've already recieved tons of positive comments on the wallpaper I made a couple days ago. I'd like to say thanks to everyone for that; there will be more to come for sure. Also, regarding suggestions - rarely do I check the site's email inbox, that's Tatum's department, but he does notify me of feedback, and if you all have a suggestion or comment for me, I may not reply for one or two days. And for suggestions, often I will take things into consideration, but not necessarily word-for-word. I've already incorporated a fan's suggestion into tomorrow's comic, and though it's subtle, it's still there. If I have anything else that still needs saying, I've forgotten what it is now. So I'm sure you'll see my signout line very shortly.

A big night tonight, ladies and gents. I'd like to introduce to all of you...the downloads section! *claps* Also, I've done some debugging of the Submit Ideas page, just to make it work correctly. For future reference, if anyone notices a problem with the site, e-mail me at ragingphoenix@gmail.com. In the real world, I had an interview with the registrar of RCC this evening, which I feel went quite well. We're fast approaching the hour of midnight, so I'm heading out. Later.

Garvar here.

I was going to hold off until I had some feedback, and possibly a downloads section, but I guess it really doesn't matter. What I'm referring to, is this wallpaper I drew 20 minutes after my previous post. It is in a 1280 X 960 format for now, but I'll create/upload the 1028 X Whatever and 800 X 600 resolution sizes later. Have fun with that one for now.

In other, more irrelevant news, I finally beat Lord of the Rings: The Third Age today. Now, I'm really not a LotR fan, but I found this game very enjoyable. In terms of gameplay, it is almost identical to Final Fantasy X, from the layout of the battle system to the very controls but if you like either FFX or LotR, it's worth checking out, and it has a number of cool features. It doesn't seem too strong on the replay value, though...Not that I payed any money for it. I'll post more news/irrelevant ramblings when I procure them.

I may or may not get to work on next day's comic tonight (If there is any way I can be more vague, please let me know) but I've stepped in here long enough to update the Cast page with our third character, Hex. I might end up having a bit of fun with some art of this character, which may lead to a new section of the navigation bar. We'll see what happens...

Well, a working template for the latest comic is up, as is the archive page. I don't really have much more to do tonight so I'm going to bed. Later.

Garvar here.

It is very late for me right now. I spent two straight hours working on today's comic, and it was uploaded four minutes before tomorrow. Needless to say the deadline was met. All webcomic artists improve things here or there as they go along, and I've already found my first sector for improvement: the captions. Lets just say, I'm going to stick with Flash from here on out. You'll see what I mean. So, keeping in mind that today's comic will be the only one with low-quality captioning, you'd damn well better enjoy it. No template for now, but rest assured Lang will get on that. Goodnight,

I'd just like to publicly apologize for everything I wrote about Denise. Before I do, however, I would ask that everyone except Denise read what is in the brackets. She isn't mean (she beat me until I promised to apologize!) and she isn't lazy (she complains when she has to walk 5 minutes with a hill in the way!). I am also much, much lazier than she is (you know, what with walking 3 times the distance that she does every day, constantly maintaining, updating and tweaking this site, and taking care of a great deal of the cleaning at my house, since my rents are seperated, my Dad works alot and my siblings are slackers). To at least dabble in site-relative content, I've completed the web shell. All buttons on the navigation bar lead somewhere, if not necessarily to actual content. If you decide to look around, don't be too disappointed. Almost all of the words/files in the pages I did tonight are just reminders of where to put things. Later.

Well I just finished reading the about page and well I'm not that mean and I'm not that lazy, and well Lang who are you to talk about being lazy? Anyways if you people are listening or I suppose reading and believing everything he says you are sad sad people. But anyway Lang is just being Lang which well is like a lot of us in the group trying to be funny in a mean way, which it is funny but try not to make yourself so godly. Anyways hope you people like the site and ya I really have no job in this yet. I'm just here to criticize, annoy, and look good. Anyway see ya.

Well, the website has finally moved into its new home. You may notice as you look around, that there is no longer any material that might invoke a lawsuit. Also, I've added a counter beneath the navigation bar, so that I may cry myself to sleep every night while I wallow in self-pity.

I know, I know, it's been awhile since the last update. Luckily, I doubt we even get ten non-us hits a day, so I don't think it's going to cause much of an uproar. Anyways, I've finished the about page, if you'd like to check that out. Well, Family Guy is on in a few minutes. Later.

Garvar here.

Oh, good lord. Now I remember, if there was ever any doubt, why I agreed to this idea. I'm more or less posting just for the sake of making another signature, but truth be told my eyes are still a little watery after watching that movie. The first one has my preference over Rides Again, I suppose, but they're both good enough to have my neighbors call the cops on a noise complaint. Damn, there was something on my mind that I've forgotten about, that really made me laugh, because the exact same thing has happened to me before. And if I can't remember what it was, I might have to pop'er back into the DVD player and search for it. Ah, whatever. I guess, for the moment, I've relinquished my bitter resentment toward my ISP. It's still crapping out here and there, but right now I'm too giddy to care. Though, people who don't know what the hell they're doing belong at a company that doesn't know what the hell they're doing so that they feel at home. You know, so they feel no guilt in screwing people over. I'm sure the world will either work itself out, or run itself into oblivion. The result is the same, anyway. I'm really going nowhere with this, I guess, so...cue signout line!

Garvar here.

A quick little post today. I've updated the Cast page with another character. I'm sure there's this or that still wrong with it, as he doesn't quite look right, but he's there for now. I'm feeling rather drained right now, so what I need is a coke, a bag of popcorn, and some Blue Collar Comedy Tour. I still haven't seen the first movie, so I'm now going to attempt to remedy that. 'Till another time,

Hey everybody. Just got out of my first and last class for the day, god knows I don't really feel like spending 3 hours sitting in the cafeteria pretending to study under the watchful eyes of Mr. Ozorio. The calculus test, it turns out, has been postponed until Tuesday. Hooray! Anyway, the only update I'm making right now is that the cast link on the navigation bar works. I'm out for now. Later.

Garvar here.

For those of you who care, I've begun work on the Cast page. I don't expect to be putting a whole lot in tonight, as my ISP has been absolute dogshit lately, and I only have oh-so-much patience for it. This tendency to be unreliable is almost pathological, however, so I've adapted a new instinct toward working online - I now save what I'm doing every 20 seconds. That's all for now,

Well, the navbar makes sounds now. Those sounds are probably going to be modified somewhat in the future, but for today that's all I'm doing, and Tatum oughta be damn thankful. I expect Gary will put up the pictures of Twink and some of his co-stars tonight, so I guess the day won't be completely wasted. Watch for those later in the evening. Yesterday's snow day postponed my calculus test, so I'm going to take advantage of the time I have to study, and definately NOT play Paper Mario >.>. Later.

Garvar here.

A fair chunk has been done to the site today, compliments on Lang's behalf. My work sector didn't merit quite as much progress - Today was the last day I had access to R.O.S.E. and was making an effort to play it as much as possible. Reality, as always, persisted in being an obstacle and my hours online were about half of what I intended. Through all the shit of the day, though, I still managed to accomplish the goal of drawing the first draft of Twink. He's missing textures and a few extra little details, but for the most part he's been completed, and I have rough templates of other aquatic creatures matching the same species description. So that's a plus. Test tomorrow (weather pending) and exam Friday. We should be back in action on Saturday.

Happy snow day everybody! Well, everybody in this general area, anyways. Added a links page, an e-mail addy you can reach us at, and the 'Submit Ideas' link. You just fill out that form, and every once in a while we'll pick an invention idea and make a flash animation featuring Twink based around it. It's basically the 'include the audience' portion of the presentation, not that we're getting any bonus marks or anything for the site. Well, being home all day, the house is halfway to totaled, and I gotta go clean up before my Dad gets home. Later.

Garvar here.

We're going to be doing a fair amount of tinkering with the website today, so by the end we hope to have a background and layout that we can all agree on. In the meantime, expect to see a missing file here or there, or broken links or such. The day, as reality dictates, will be blank for the most part, though the void for me will be filled in part by strengthening my education; the next two days will bring me both a test in one subject and an exam in another, so I have both those subjects to be studying for. Not to mention the blizzard outside. Shovelling that will be fun. I woke up this morning, looked out my window, and the snow was falling up. All of this happened overnight.

Hey everybody! Finally added something to look at. Check out the history page. Our artist Lord Garvar has been kind enough to grace us with some sketches. Also, we have a real background! Anyways, I'm out. Later.

Denise here.

Hi, I'm Denise. All you need to know is that I'm the mean one. See ya.

From the hole where Tatum's brain should be.

Okay. Okay. Okay. I don't really have anything relevant to say, like Lord Garvar, just trying out the posting, so I can screw it up 10-15 times and have someone else help me. Later dayz.

Garvar here.

I'm just basically posting here for the hell of it to get used to how things work, I guess. News for absent eyes, really. Just so I have something useful to post: The idea for the first comic is here! Won't be drawn for a while yet though, I need to create all the character models and backgrounds first. Also, when I get around to it, I'll scan in some concept sketches. Until then,

First day of the site up, the next week will be dedicated to making it good. Comics, animations, news and hopefully donations to come soon!
